I can’t sleep !! I’m in Tampa, on a bus, wide awake at 3:11am. Good times. Anyway, lots of cool stuff going on. I will be on “Hart Of Dixie” next Tuesday December 4th performing “You Stole My Heart”. It’s my first time on a tv show like this. I also released my single “If Love Had a Heart” this week. This song is my “baby”. I don’t always fall completely in love with everything I write, but after Tommy Lee James and I wrote this song I jumped in the car with a cd of it in my hand, and immediately started wearing it out. There was just something about it that I loved right away. Tommy is the kind of person who plays several instruments during a writing session including guitar, piano, and mandolin. I just remember I kept saying, play the piano, I love the piano !! Aside from the lyrical “hook”, the line piano is my favorite part of the track :). As for the story behind the song, anyone who really knows me, knows that I have had some interesting relationships (to say the least). I always loved being in love, but sometimes it felt like love didn’t love me back. It’s really about those moments when you feel betrayed, not just by the one you love, but by love itself.
The Highway, Sirius XM radio channel 59 will start playing ”If Love Had a Heart” next Tuesday, so listen for it and let me know if you hear it !!
I hope that y’all are sound asleep and dreaming right now, as I should be. Have a lovely weekend.

Me and my band ! Filmed today for the show “Hart of Dixie” woohoo (Taken with Instagram)

So, the country Throwdown Tour has come to an end. Our last show was about a week ago at Fontanel Mansion in Nashville, and to tell the truth, I really wish it would have just kept on going all summer. It has been such an awesome ride.
One of my favorite parts of the tour was getting to watch the other artists perform and learning the words to all of their songs. Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins, Josh Thompson, Sunny Sweeney, Florida Georgia Line, Eric Paslay, the Maggie Rose Band, and of course my partners on the Bluebird Cafe Stage, Carly Pearce and Channing Wilson.
I cried behind my gas station sunglasses during our last Bluebird Set, just thinking about how much fun we have had and how I’m gonna hate not seeing all these incredible people every weekend.
After spending the past two months basically tailgating in a parking lot while waiting to play, I find myself wanting to open the hatch of my truck and just sit out there and drink a beer from time two time… lol. Not too bad of a pastime it turns out. Seriously though, it is good to be home and I’m gonna be writing like crazy over the next couple of months and I will be out on the road again soon, coming to a city near you.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out and hung around all day in the blistering heat and sometimes rain, to see the show. It was such a great opportunity to get to play for ya’ll, especially in such an intimate setting under the bluebird tent. I also want to thank Sarah Baer and everyone on the Throwdown crew for making me feel like a part of your family !
